Reiki is a natural healing technique that works to bring harmony and balance in a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual way.
Reiki comes from two Japanese words:
Rei meaning Universal
Ki meaning Life Force Energy
Universal Life Force Energy flows through all living things. This source of power and energy is what keeps us alive, we receive this energy from many sources including sunshine, the air we breathe, food and water and its natural healing energy that flows through the hands of the Reiki channel in a powerful and concentrated form.
How does Reiki work?
Reiki is an amazing energy that comes from the highest spiritual source. It has its own intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do. It is multi-dimensional and will heal the cause of a problem on whatever level it may exist - body, mind, or spirit. It does not have to be directed by the practitioner. Because it is a channeled healing, the Reiki practitioner's energies are never depleted. In fact, when giving a treatment, the Reiki practitioner is healed as well and always experiences an increase in life-force energy.
What is a Treatment Like?
A standard Reiki treatment includes placing the hands above, or on, the head, shoulders, stomach and feet. In addition, other positions may be used for specific conditions the client may have. Each position is held 2 to 5 minutes and the entire treatment lasts 45 to 90 minutes. A treatment creates a wonderful radiance that is deeply relaxing and includes many beneficial affects for both client and practitioner. At the very least, you will feel very relaxed during a session, often to the point of falling asleep. A Reiki session always seems to impress those who say they find it difficult to relax.
Who Can Benefit From Reiki?
In oriental cultures, healing disciplines like Reiki may be applied to healthy people as a preventative method. However, Reiki may also be used to assist you in returning to a state of health.
Reiki is both powerful and gentle. In its long history of use Reiki has aided in healing and aiding virtually all types of illness. Reiki can also be used to relieve stress, to overcome unwanted habits, to achieve desired goals, and to protect from harm.
Many Reiki practitioners have found that plants and animals also respond well to a Reiki session.
Learning Reiki
Reiki is easy to learn and is done in 3 levels:
Reiki One
This is the first level you will be introduced to when learning Reiki and is usally taught over a weekend. Reiki one
gives you the ability to heal on a physical level, which means you can use the hands on method of healing to heal the body.
Reiki Two
Once you have been doing Reiki one for about a year its then time to think about doing level two if you wish. Reiki two is
almost the same as one but it allows you to treat the emotions and also to distant heal. Distance healing is
what we call the process of sending healing over a distance to someone, much like sending radio signals.
Reiki Three
Reiki three is known as Reiki Masters, it is the highiest level you can go to, a Reiki Master
can teach and attune people into all 3 levels of Reiki. The Masters degree is only for those
who wish to take it as its not necessary unless you want to teach.
